It is really nice the way they make everything black these days.  It certainly stops reflected light.  Unfortunately when I get out under a fairly dark sky I have trouble finding focusing knobs, and buttons on my Sky Commander and on and on.  I finally found a solution I like.   They are self-adhesive (peel-off backing) and are made for indoor or outdoor use.  It can adhere to almost any clean surface (best to wipe with alcohol before sticking to remove old fingerprints.).  The maker says they will glow for 10 hours by exposing them to light for 5 minutes.  Easily cut by scissors to the size and shape you need, and the backing is easy to remove to expose adhesive.

I cut small circles or squares of it to stick on the buttons of my SkyCommander, put on the end of my SCT focusing knob and any other place I find myself fumbling for in the dark.  I am finding lots of usage on my scopes, and in my storage area to light areas where I set things down.
